A Smoking Ceremony Amidst Chaos

Writer: Dr Julie ReesDr Julie Rees

I dreamt of walking through a dimly lit house. With each step, I noticed clutter spread out across the dark floor. As I moved forward, an Indigenous man in traditional attire performed a smoking ceremony right at my feet. The smoke rose and swirled around him, then drifted towards me. The atmosphere highlighted the contrast of the disorder of my surroundings and the serenity of his ritual.
